Santa Cruz de Tenerife
is a city and a municipality on the island of Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain. The city is the capital of the island, the second most populous in the Canary Islands and the 21st largest city in Spain, with a population of 221,956 in 2008, while the population of the metropolitan area was 573,825 (13th largest metropolitan area in Spain.)
