The municipality is named after the town of Teror, where the celebrations of the Virgen del Pino take place. More important for tourists (and locals) than the above given date is September 7 with a splendid procession. Mineral water is an important product of Teror, other economic activity is based on agriculture and crafts.
There’s a weekly market (mercadillo) on Sundays, considered the best (most original) of Gran Canaria. http://www.enjoycanaryislands.com
